Security Officer

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun State
Report To: Care Home Manager

Job Purpose


Ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property within the care home by monitoring access to the premises, patrolling the grounds, and responding to security incidents in a calm, professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor entry and exit points, greet and sign in visitors, contractors and delivery personnel
  • Patrol premises to identify and respond to potential security risks
  • Monitor CCTV systems and report unusual or suspicious activities
  • Respond to alarms or disturbances, taking appropriate action
  • Secure doors, windows, and gates and maintain accurate incident and shift reports
  • Support staff in managing challenging behaviours or situations involving residents when necessary

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as security personnel in healthcare or hospitality setting
  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations
  • Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy
  • Approachable, respectful, and supportive toward elderly residents
  • Discreet and able to handle confidential information
  • Flexibility to work and ability to read and write
